The time came for her to be delivered.
Usually, in our culture, we refer to delivering the baby, but in the Christmas story from the second chapter of the book of Luke, King James Version, the words read, “…and while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered,” and so Mary gave birth to Jesus. And she was delivered.
And so were we – the whole human family, if we choose to accept our Deliverer.
At this time of year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth and we’re broke from shopping, exhausted from all the to-and-fro, and ready for a long winter’s nap, we’re delivered!
Joy to the World – Light has come – the Prince of Peace, the Hope of all mankind.
Christmas blessings friends!
